Background On 20 May 2024, against the backdrop of the conflict in Israel and Gaza, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) applied for arrest warrants for, among others, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, Yoav Gallant, the Minister of Defence of Israel and Yahya Sinwar, the Head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip.
